Excerpt: Dante Young has always been on wheels. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, he spent much of his childhood on a skateboard, inspired by pros like Stevie Williams and Nyjah Houston. Eventually, he traded the skateboard’s four wheels for the two on a vintage road bike, and never looked back.

New Zealander Rae Morrison found her calling hurtling down mountains on two wheels. After a childhood of team sports, she joined her father and uncle at a multisport competition in her mid-teens. Running and swimming didn’t interest her, but she immediately fell in love with mountain biking.
